We arrive in DC!
Day 1: On how we roadtripped
The morning began early. Samantha Mae and myself ventured down for a rousing session of morning yoga. After several downward facing dogs and sun salutations, we prepared to meet our compatriots in travels for breakfast before leaving for our long drive to Washington. As we departed, we bumped in to our former professor of digital imaging Claudia. Sam informed her that we were leaving that morning to drive to inauguration. Claudia laughed for a moment, and then inquisitively asked "Wait...are you serious?" "Of course we are serious, Clauds!" "You're a riot!" (Note: She referred to us as one person)
We exited the Kenyon Athletic Center at a galloping pace, we had a rigid departure time of 8:30 am. As we drove back up to the apartment to meet Elizabeth and Rebecca, strangely, we saw them passing us. We figured they were going to breakfast so Samantha and I went back to get breakfast as well. But they were not there. I feared the worse, that Sam and I would get in trouble for being late. But, ah! Sweet mystery of life! We managed not to leave until 10 (ish). A much more reasonable departure time.
And so began the great migration to our nation's capital. (Capitol?)
Around 11, I asked to stop for milkshakes. It was a good choice.
Around 12, Elizabeth and I needed to be fed again, so we went to Wendy's. Still a good choice.
The journey continued. Rebecca driving the entire way. We arrived in the DC area and parked our car in Rockeville. (Note: Before doing this we considered leaving our car in the park and ride section of the Metro. The Metro has a strange facility called 'Kiss and Ride' where you are to kiss your loved one and then they leave on a train. It was odd.)
We arrived at Claire's.
I'm tired of telling this story now. The End!
xoxo,
Will
